Cancer : prevention and early detection

REDUCE YOUR RISK

AVOID
-Cigarettes
-Cigarettes smoke
-Being overweight
-Sunburn
-Chewing betel leaf

ENCOURAGE
-Moderate consumption of alcohol
-Exercise regularly
-More vegetables and fruits
-Less red meat and fatty food

WOMEN
-Examine your breasts monthly
-Mammography after age 35
-have regular PAP smear

MEN
-Examine testes(young men)
-Digital rectal exam / PSA test(age over 50)

ADULTS
-Periodic health examination by doctor to include check-ups for cancer

WARNING SIGNS
Change in bowel or bladder habits
A sore that does not heal
Unusual bleeding or discharge
Thickening/lump in the breast or elsewhere
Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing impairment of hearing/noise in same ear
Obvious change in mole or weight loss
Nagging cough or hoarseness
